Admission to various courses is based on entrance exam scores and merit. The accepted entrance exams for admission to the BTech course are AP EAMCET, GITAM GAT, JEE Main, and others. Candidates applying through JEE Main must first visit the official website. Then register for the NEET exam. Appear for the NEET exam. Then take part in the counselling round. Visit the allotted college and page the admission fee to confirm the seat.

GITAM School of Technology, Visakhapatnam is not very costly. The total tuition fee for the BTech course is INR 10.6 Lacs - INR 14.9 lakh. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech course is INR 2.3 lakh. If the students find the fee very high, worry not they can apply for the scholarships available on the official website of the college.

The college has been given a decent rating as per the (shiksha verified review) of 3.9 in terms of faculty and course curriculum. Some students even believe that the faculty is quite friendly while teaching and easily solves the queries of the students.
