Guru Jambheshwar University of Science And Technology admissions are both merit and entrance-based. The university conducts an entrance exam to shortlist candidates for various UG and PG courses. Apart from this,  Directorate national-level entrance exams like JEE Main,  CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. The university offers more than 50 courses at UG and PG levels in multiple streams such as Engineering, Management, Science, Arts, etc. in campus and through affiliated colleges. GJUST also has a Directorate of Distance Education to offer UG and PG courses in distance education mode.

Admission to the UG-level course is merit/JEE score based. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility requirements can visit the university website to apply. After application submission, it is scanned by the authorities and cutoff list is published. The applicants who meet the cutoff criteria then need to take part in HSTES counselling. In the counselling, seats are allotted and cutoff is released for each round of counselling until all the seats are filled.

GJUST admissions usually begin in June for UG and PG courses with the opening of registration portal. The applications open online and continue till July. For PhD courses, the application forms are usually released in the first week of August. The university concludes the admission within a month.

GJUST shortlists candidates for B.Ed programme based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates must hold the proof of their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission. Once the selection rounds are completed, shortlisted candidates are called for counselling.
