Hi,
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is "YES". CAT preparation won't be sufficient enough for GMAT and the same holds true if you are preparing for GMAT. This is because the intention to check on the areas are very different in both the exams. CAT tests your ability mainly on your 1- Quantitative abilities 2- Data Interpretation/ Logical Reasoning and 3- Verbal Ability. GMAT on the other side tests your, quant, Verbal, AWA, IR. You may think Quant and Verbal overlap in both but this isn't enough as the difficulty is not the same in both. Quant in CAT is at a higher level than GMAT. Similarly Verbal scores point in GMAT over qu

Hi, It depends on individuals ability and previous knowledge to prepare for any entrance test. The best way is to take a mock test and find your strengths and gaps. Then you may start working with a plan and coaching. There are many options available these days like online tutoring, offline classes or mix of both. You may take 3 to 6 months and do take lot of mock tests before your final exam.

Start early and by August, shortlist 8-12 universities that you will apply to. Visit university websites and note application requirements, deadlines etc. By September, be familiar with bank loan options and scholarships to fund your studies. Begin by downloading admissions brochures from the university websites. Most brochures are out more than a year earlier. Do some initial research on various accommodation options. Crack the exams: June 2016 to December 2016. Prepare for required standardized tests like GMAT GRE SAT TOEFL or IELTS depending on the course and university. By June-July or three months before the test date, register fo

If you prefer group studies, get to a training institute close by your house, if you need separate special attention, then I suggest online or offline personal is the best. However there are certain disadvantages with offline personal and that is cost involved will surely be high, you may or may not be comfortable with the person knowing your address, so make a wise and the best applicable choice. By offline personal I mean, the tutor coming to your residence. All the best for your future endeavors.

First of all, both CAT and GMAT have different patterns. Although, both measure a person's abilities like Quantitative and verbal, but the content differs. GMAT is an adaptive test, which means as you answer the question right, a harder question will be given to you and if you answer wrong, a question easier or equal to your last question will be given. You can move forward only if you answer the current question. Whereas, CAT is a linear test where questions are numbered and you can go back and forth anytime and choose which question you want to answer first. The verbal ability parts of both the exams are somewhat different. While GMA

MBA programme require you to submit a GMAT score in the Birmingham city Business school's MBA programme. GMAT score of 500 is preferable, but is not an admission requirement. IELTS is needed for international applicants.

Being a 2nd year student you do have a lot of time to prepare as next year would largely be focused on your training and the final year on placement. Start preparing bit by bit on your own. Build a strong vocab in next few months followed by writing skills and than appear for a mock or two every month. This would ensure your continuous evaluation and would help to improve until the final day. Give your GMAT in the final year staring as this would help you with enough time to apply for the scholarships and other financial aid.
