GMAT Scores

Your profile looks good for most of the colleges. An average Indian applicant applies with GMAT score of 700. However, a top ranked college will not hand out a 100% scholarship (it is very rare). Colleges ranked lower than 50 would be more willing to give you a good scholarship. Some things are extremely important to consider tho:
1. Your background is IT and so is the most of the applicants. You need to depict something extraordinary in your work experience. A lot of people apply with 2 years of work experience from IT MNC.
2. Volunteer experience in teaching won't add much gravity to your application. Again, this is something lot of Indians do.
3. There are need based scholarships & talent based scholarships. Need based scholarships will never cover 100% of the tuition but talent scholarship might. An excellent GMAT score, excellent GPA, and interview performance are the usual determiners of talent scholarships. You might want to consider working for at least 3 years and put some significant work experience in your application since this is what can separate you from your peers. Lead teams, get promotions, become the performer of your company. Basically dazzle them with your work charisma!
Another important factor, GMAT score does play a role in admission but most colleges check whether the score is 700+ or not. 700 seems to be the differentiating score. Get at least 700, but a score higher than that will never hurt you. Some finance companies ask for minimum of 740 for placements. Be safe!

Different colleges have different GMAT scores required for MBA. Some of the top colleges abroad require a score of 700+ for acceptance into their MBA programs, whereas others may require a score of 600-750+ for admission. Your career choice could be in any of these areas: investment banking, asset management firms, hedge funds or private equity, portfolio management, credit risk management, hedge fund management or derivatives. Even the non-financial firms or companies would have their in-house finance department which would provide various job opportunities in finance. MBA in Operations management:
The knowledge of operations management would empower you with the expertise required to efficiently manage the entire system related to manufacturing or services in a manner that the organisation has a competitive edge over others. The newer perspectives and the analytical skills brought in by the MBA grads can help address the various issues faced towards managing the entire process which includes product design, manufacture, supply chain management, quality control, co-ordination between various teams including various decisions like outsourcing.
