If you want to improve your GMAT score, you to consider the following points. First, it will take some time and effort to improve your overall GMAT score. You must start with a GMAT mock test (even if you have not studied anything), identify your weak areas, and work on them. Then, you need to decide on proper GMAT books and prepare them. Do not skip the GMAT OG (GMAT Official Guide). With a sound preparation plan and effective time management, one can achieve a score of 700 which will help you in getting admission to a reputed B-school.

Your unofficial GMAT score report will be available immediately after you finish your GMAT exam. It will contain Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Integrated Reasoning scores along with the total GMAT score. Your official GMAT score report will be available in your GMAT account within 3-5 business days of your GMAT test date. The official GMAT score report will contain your total score, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights scores.

More than 7,700 graduate management programs across the world use GMAT scores to give admission to aspirants. However, the GMAT score is not the only criterion for getting selected for a good MBA college. B-Schools usually look for candidates who have a holistic profile that has sound academic, managerial work experience, extracurricular activities, etc. Moreover, your admission documents (statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, resume, admission essays, etc.) also matter to a large extent. The average GMAT score for the MBA Fall term 2023 accepted students is 610. International students are encouraged to submit their GMAT scores. Submitting a GMAT score gives additional value to an MBA application and helps in the application evaluation process. Getting a perfect GMAT score i.e. 800 is not at all easy and not many test takers achieve this feat. Out of almost 2,00,000 test-takers annually, only a handful of candidates are able to get a perfect GMAT score. With consistent efforts and perfect strategy, one can get a good score; however, getting a perfect score is quite difficult. Students need to understand that a good GMAT score does help in their application; however, it is not the only criterion of your admission application. Other documents such as a Statement of Purpose, admission essays, etc. are equally important. Hence, you must focus on these documents as well.

Schools receive the official GMAT online scores within 24 hours of candidates' request. Schools can access the scores by logging into the official site of GMAC and going to the profile page of the candidate. In the case of the online GMAT exam, you are supposed to send your free scores to 5 programmes within 48 hours of its availability on the official website. Once you have exhausted this limit, you need to pay $35 for an additional score report. Hence, it is crucial to research the universities where the student wants to send his/her GMAT score.

Candidates are allowed to send free scores to five schools only once. After this, if they wish to send scores to other schools then they need to pay $35 per school. The fee, of $35 for an additional GMAT score report, is valid in the cases of online and offline GMAT both. On the day of the GMAT exam conducted at a test centre, students can send scores to 5 B-schools. Applicants can select up to 5 programmes that will receive official GMAT score report for no additional cost within 48 hours. Make sure that you have done sufficient research about the universities, programmes, career outcomes, etc. If you wish to send your GMAT score to more programmes, they can be sent by paying $35 per report. This is valid for both home testing and testing at an exam centre.
