Even if you score less than 700 in the GMAT exam, you can still get selected in the top B-schools provided you meet the GMAT cutoff. When you visit the class profile page of a top B-school, you can find that there is a GMAT score range that shows the minimum and the maximum GMAT scores of an MBA batch. Even for top universities like Harvard, the GMAT score range is 540-790. Hence, not everyone in the batch must have scored above 700. If you score less than 700 on the GMAT, you must work hard on your application documents (statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, admission essays, etc.).

Getting a good GMAT score will definitely improve your profile and application when it comes to MBA and MIM admissions. However, students need to realize that a GMAT score is not the only criteria for their selection in a B-school. Application documents such as a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, admission essays, etc. are equally important and can make or break your chances of getting in a B-school. It will be beneficial for the students to work on their profile in a holistic manner.

Considering that it's LSE, the minimum GAMT score requirement would be higher than usual universities. However, the average GMAT score for applicants who are admitted at LSE MIM course is 680, which means that applicants should aim to achieve a score that is at least in this range to be competitive.

Stanford University School of Business accepts GRE and GMAT scores as a part of the scholarship or financial aid application. There is no minimum score requirements for MBA courses at Stanford University and a range of scores are accepted. The standardised scores are mainly required for admission, so the students must take the exam before applying to be considered. While applying for admission at the university, students have to self-report their GRE/GMAT scores against the official score report on the application. The university will review the scores after submission and respond to the student accordingly.
