To gain admission to the Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari, for a B.Tech program, you will need to meet specific eligibility criteria and follow the admission process set by the Maharashtra government. The overall rating for the college considering the faculty performance, fee structure, value for money, placements and other opportunites as provided by former and current students of this college is 4.1 out of 5. The most praised feature of the college being its faculty members who are talented and have a good relationship with the students. A huge drawback about the college is its placement opportunities.

First you have to take the MHT CET exam, a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Government for admissions in Engineering Institutions. You should score atleast 92 percentile to take admissions in Computer Engineering in this college. It's one of the most desired course in this college. So the course cutoff may also be higher. So to be in the safer side score atleast a cutoff of around 93 per cent.

The placement opportunities in this college is considerably low. Not many companies visit this college and most of them are hiring for automobile engineers. Formely Big Names like TCS, Cognizant, Capegemini used to visit this college but lately they haven't shown much interest. The package offered to students is also very low and not more than 3 LPA.

Being a Government Institute, the fee is very low as compared to other private or autonomous institutions. The fee for the B.Tech courses is around INR 16,500/- per year. The fee is only around INR 25,000/- per year for a lateral entry candidate. So the entire course can be completed by paying less than INR 2 Lakhs. The hostel fee is also low and affordable.

Yes, the cutoff for this college based on mhtcet exam has been released for the year 2024. The overall cutoff percentile for MHT CET exam in the year 2024 is in the range of 40.28 - 93.87. The highest cutoff is for the Computer Science course and the least being for the Automobile Engineering course. So for courses like Computer Science and Telecommunications you're expected to score more than 91 per cent in the MHT CET examinations.

Since It's a Government College, a lot of students compete to get an admission in this college considering it's comparatively low fee. This adds to the usual JEE Main cutoff of above 90 to get an admission for the General category students. The closing JEE Main score in the previous year for the least desired courses B.E. in Automobile Engineering and B.E. in Civil Engineering was 93.39 for the General category students. As for courses like B.E. in Computer Science Engineering the cut-off is a bit high. P.S. the cutoff marks may vary every year.

Government College of Engineering is considered good for the B.Tech courses. Better infrastructure, highly qualified and experienced faculty members, an updated curriculum concerning industries-the college is expected to provide good service with relatively lower fees than that in private colleges. The faculty members will be highly qualified, usually with a higher degree, and the placements are also quite good. Apart from this, government engineering colleges generally have good laboratory facilities for practical knowledge exposure. Fundamentally, Government College of Engineering would be one of the better choices in having a degree
