Cut off marks for admission to a diploma varies from one state to another state and also for different category of persons based on caste. In general, with special reference to Tamil nadu State ,I can give the MAX-MIN% cut off for different category. However, this may vary slightly upwards/downwards.
OC and forward caste persons is varies from 100 to 80% of total marks in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
BC is varies from 79 to 60% of total marks.in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
MBC is varies from 59 to 40% of total marks.in SSLC/SSC(10th class)

Hello,
This year, inspite of repeated attempts, seats were lying vacant in many Polytechnic institutes after multiple rounds of admission process. Of course, government Polytechnic in Pune is famous and hence admissions invariably close at higher levels here. Unfortunately information about closing rank or cutoffs is not available in public domain. Best wishes to you.

It depends on which stream you want to take admission. One of my friends got 9300 rank and he got offered in Jalpaiguri polytechnic college in ECE branch and if you are looking for the best university then it is a good university.

No, there is no seat reserved for any of the Polytechnic colleges to take admission in COEP for direct 2nd-year degree courses.
The admission procedure is as follows
Your percentage score of Diploma is the only criterion for admission to COEP. Of course, there are Caste based reservations in these seats as well. If a branch has an intake of 60 seats in the 1st year then there are 20% of seats added in that class at the start of 2nd year. This makes 12 seats for Diploma graduates in a class having a strength of 60.
For COEP Mechanical, there are 120 seats at 1st-year intake so there are 24 seats (20%) at the start of 2nd year for Diploma
