At UPES, you have the option of having a specialized domain along with the engineering program.
In UPES, there are 5 options under Mechanical Engineering:
a) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
b) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Machine Design
c) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Material Science & Nano Technology
d) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Production Engineering
e) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering

First of all the name GD Pant college of engineering is wrong, I guess you are talking about GB pant engineering college (GBPEC), Pauri Garhwal. If this is the college you are taking about then definitely BIT, Patna is a much better option.

Placements are not that good but they are quite better than other state government engineering colleges.
Companies like BEL, RVNL, ADOBE, TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO visit the college to recruit the students.
The Highest package offered was about 8.13 lakhs per annum.

To know the syllabus of mechanical & automation engineering, please refer to the website of GB Pant College. By the way, the syllabus for MAM is same as of ME, but there you will get hands-on specialization in automation technology.

You should go for agricultural engineering from GB Pant.
