Candidates can check and download the GPAT syllabus from the official NTA website. There are 5 five sections in GPAT 2024 exam namely Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Allied Subjects, Pharmaceutics & Allied Subjects, Pharmacognosy & Allied Subjects, Pharmacology & Allied Subjects, and other subjects. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) the exam conducting body of the GPAT exam decides and releases the GPAT exam pattern. The GPAT exam syllabus will also released by NBEMS. The GPAT official notification revealed the updated GPAT exam pattern which remained the same this year as well.

The marking scheme for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2025 will be as follows: Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer. One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. Hence students are advised to attempt only those questions in which they are quite confident.

Dear aspirant, GPAT 2024 Preparation can be started by going through the exam pattern and syllabus. GPAT Syllabus consists of a total of 19 subjects which are further divided into various sub-topics. Of all the subjects, Pharmacology carries the maximum weightage. Around 25% to 30% of questions are framed from this section. To improve the performance for GPAT 2022, candidates can solve GPAT Sample Papers. For the preparation, candidates need to focus on the numerical problems as around 4 to 5 numerical questions are framed each year. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct GPAT entrance exam in online mode. The MPharma entrance exam is organised at the designated test centers across several cities in India. On the day of the examination, each candidate will be allotted a computer terminal at the exam centre where they will have to input correct answers against the questions being asked in the exam. Candidates will be able to appear for the exam in two shifts: morning and forenoon.

There is no deduction of marks for question not attempted in GPAT exam. Candidates are allowed to skip a question if they do not know the correct answer. They will be marked zero for skipping the question. Overall there will be a total of 125 questions in the GPAT 2023 exam. One mark will be deducted for every wrong response. Each correct response will be rewarded with 4 marks in the exam.

Yes, candidates whose answer is incorrect have to face negative marking of -1 mark each. There is no negative marking of the unattempted questions. The maximum marks of the question paper as defined by the authority is 500 and candidates will be given 3 hours time duration to complete the test. As there is negative marking in the exam, therefore candidates are advised to carefully attempt the questions in order to avoid negative marking in the exam.

There will tentatively be 5 five sections in GPAT 2024 exam namely Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Allied Subjects, Pharmaceutics & Allied Subjects, Pharmacognosy & Allied Subjects, Pharmacology & Allied Subjects, and other subjects. The syllabus of the GPAT 2023 entrance examination majorly covers various dimensions of pharmaceutics. This year a new section on computational Biology and bioinformatics has been added to the syllabus.

In GPAT exam, generally there are 125 objective-type questions with 4 or more response options. Instead of writing the answer, the candidate has to choose the correct response from the options given and mark it. The exam pattern of GPAT 2023 clearly states that the medium for the examination will be English only. Any requests for a different medium/ language will not be entertained by the NTA.

Right preparation strategy and availability of right study material is the key to prepare for the GPAT exam. When in graduation, candidates are suggested start devoting sometime to GPAT exam preparation from the beginning. The difficulty level of the exam will seem easy to the aspirants when you start practising GPAT mock tests.

Candidates can prepare topics such as Bio-pharmaceutics, Bio-availability and bio-equivalence, Biopharmaceutical Statistics under Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics subjects for GPAT 2023. Other topics in Pharmacodynamics include Mechanism of drug action, Receptors, classification and drug-receptor interactions, combined effects of drugs, factors modifying drug actions, principle of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs. Principles of basic and clinical pharmacokinetics.
