Hi Alex, 6.46 is a poor score for the top-ranked universities. Also, your GRE score is not too great. However, you can always try, a strong SOP and exceptionally good LORs might help. UC Berkeley, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Purdue University- West Lafayette and Carnegie Mellon University among others are well-known names for civil engineering programmes.

Hi Anila,
Check the 'The Official Guide to the Revised General Test', 2nd Edition by ETS.
Even books by Manhattan and Kaplan (Kaplans GRE Premier 2016) are popular.
You have to be skillful enough to type the names of the books and get them online if you wish or buy it from any physical store or check here for exact names

It also depends on your statement of purpose. Do it carefully. 289 is an average score. You will not get any of top universities. Your resume should be very strong to get university with such score.

Hello, The MS programs are highly competitive in Canada. Your profile seems strong however admissions will depend on your overall application package including LORs and SOP. You may look at Lakehead university, University of Windsor or University of Fraser Valley etc.
Also, MS programs could be either research based or coursework. Research based are selective and would require a superviser to accept you first. You have to decide what is best for you and apply accordingly. Begin researching on the Masters courses, visit university websites, write to them and start the application process a year ahead of the intakes.
