No, GRE is not mandatory to study Masters in Germany. International students interested in studying in Germany have to follow the eligibility requirements demanded by German institutions. Most of the universities in Germany require the student to have a 4-year undergraduate degree for admission to its MS courses.

Hello Rehman, Many students take GRE when in the final year of engineering but on the other hand there are equally large number of students who take this exam after completion of graduation. So it's your choice based on comfort level. Best wishes to you.

IELTS or TOEFL either works. GRE will depend on the university under consideration.

In addition to this, students need to appear for IELTS or TOEFL to prove their efficiency in the language. For PG courses: Students are expected to have at least 70-75% from a reputed Indian university. They are also required to appear for GRE (by some universities) and a score of above 300 should do the needful.

A GRE score above 315 should be targeted and a TOEFL of 90 to 100. It is better you check some university websites for the admission requirements, you will be able to prepare in a better way if you have a target and goal in mind. Different universities have different criteria.

Scholarships are based on merit, they are given by the universities (you are applying to) to deserving students. Generally applicants are considered by default and the most meritorious ones are considered. Very good academic grades, a good GRE score, above 310, TOEFL score above 100, extracurricular activities, SOP, recommendation letters etc. Are evaluated.
