Hi Vedant,
It is good to start off with a practice test, the practice test will show your scores and information on which areas and questions you did well and vice versa. You don't have to prepare beforehand, just take a random practice test. Schedule your study plan and strategies only after the first practice test. Stick to your calendar, 4 to 5 days a week for an hour or two depending on your capabilities, schedule one practice test every week after revision. It will give you an idea of your improvement and scores. Also, when you take the practice tests make sure you are not disturbed, you can check GRE website for practice tests an

The key to choosing the GMAT or GRE for MBA admission is to first identify which of your chosen schools require which test. If you think a school might accept both, but could prefer one test over the other, email, phone, or chat online to find out. Most business schools opt to accept GRE scores as an alternative to the GMAT so as to widen their pool of applicants, and bring in students from backgrounds outside of the traditional norm-those with backgrounds in finance, accounting, and economics and so on.

Hi,
Some well known ones include Carnegie Mellon, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Georgiatech, University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles, University of Texas at Austin, etc. These are among the top ones, preferred GRE is above 315. For IELTS score please check the website. Normally they will prefer TOEFL. Admission requirements are not same with universities so you have to check the websites.

On a very realistic note, this is your last chance in CAT. I am saying this, because I did the same. Even I had 3.8 years of experience in IT with a mechanica degree. So, give it your best shot. If you are not able to clear CAT, then give GMAT, once you get 5 years work experience.

Hi,
You can aim above 310 to keep yourself in a good position. Above 315 is normally a very good score.
