It is good to start off with a practice test, the practice test will show your scores and information on which areas and questions you did well and vice versa. You don't have to prepare beforehand, just take a random practice test. Schedule your study plan and strategies only after the first practice test. Stick to your calendar, 4 to 5 days a week for an hour or two depending on your capabilities, schedule one practice test every week after revision. Some well known ones include Carnegie Mellon, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Georgiatech, University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles, University of Texas at Austin, etc. These are among the top ones, preferred GRE is above 315. For IELTS score please check the website. Normally they will prefer TOEFL. Admission requirements are not same with universities so you have to check the websites.

You can aim above 310 to keep yourself in a good position. Above 315 is normally a very good score.
