Yes, Guru Nanak Dev University's BCom admissions are entrance-based. Admission to all the courses offered at the university is based on a departmental-level entrance exam conducted by  the Head of the (respective) Department offering the programme. GNDU. To appear for this exam, candidates must fill out an application form on the official website of the university. Based on the performance in this exam, a merit list is prepared. The applicants who manage to get shortlisted are allotted seats, provided they present the require documents supporting their eligibillity.

Guru Nanak Dev University usually starts accepting applications for BCom admission in the month of May every year. The exact admission dates may vary across the GNDU-affiliated colleges. The admission process is usually conducted by July/August. As the eligibility criteria for BCom admission at GNDU is based on the Class 12 merit of the applicants, it can be said that candidates seeking admission must apply soon after their Class 12 result is declared.
