I can't say about all other colleges but Sant Longowal is not as good as expected from a central government college. Gurukula Kangri is not a CO Educational Institute. Please check before filling your choice. SLIET is situated in Longowal, a village in Sangrur district. So please go to other colleges like JKIAPT and IIIT-Manipur because it has an IIIT tag. For my personal view, go to any other colleges but please don't come to SLIET. If there is no option and your JEE rank is not good and you hardly wish to take admission in a central government college then you may think about this college. Every college and university is good, if it is recognized. GKV is recognized by UGC to empower degree.

Both the institutes mentioned by you are equally good and thus it will be very difficult to tell which one will be the best option. However, we can help you with the parameters that you can keep in mind while choosing an institute among them. You can consider the below parameters :
1) Faculty,
2) Affiliation / Recognition
3) Course Material,
4) Quality Education,
5) Fees
6) Infrastructure
7) Success Rate.
8) Placement
9) Top recruiting companies.
Also, if possible go through the alumni speak section to get an idea what the alumni thinks about the institute.
