The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Kolkata has 323 seats for the BSc course. The BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration programme has 380 seats.  Admission to IHMs is based on performance in the NCHMCT JEE exam. In 2020, more than 12,000 seats were available for admission in BSc in Hospitality.  IHM Kolkata also offers four specializations under Diploma course.

Both IHM Kolkata and IHM Delhi are excellent hotel management institutes. The best institute for students will depend on their individual needs and preferences. If candidates are looking for an institute with a strong focus on practical training, IHM Kolkata may be a better fit for them. Howeve, if they are looking for an institute with a strong academic program, IHM Delhi may be a better fit.

However, based on the placement reports of previous years and student reviews, the median package offered to BSc students during Institute of Hotel Management Kolkata placements 2023 is expected to be between INR 4 LPA and INR 5 LPA.This is a good package for fresh graduates in the hotel management industry. The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Kolkata has been awarded the best placement award in the country multiple times by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.  IHM Kolkata offers excellent placement compared to other IHMs.  The average package is INR 5 LPA in the past few years. 95% of students got their job in the previous years. IHM Kolkata offers students the opportunity to be placed in top hotels and food companies. The overall cutoff for the NCHMCT-JEE for the Institute of Hotel Management Kolkata (IHM Kolkata) in 2023 was 142–2143. The closing rank for the BSc course for the open category in round 1 was 2143. This was lower than the 2022 cutoff of 2172. To get into one of the top IHMs, you need to score at least 180 marks in the NCHMCT JEE exam. If you're not aiming for admission in top IHMs, then securing 110-150 marks would also be considered a decent score
