HBTU Kanpur admissions is entrance-based. Candidates need to clear the entrance exam to get a seat in the desired course. The accepted national-level entrance exams are JEE Main, NIMCET, IIT JAM, GATE, CAT, UGC NET/ CSIR NET. Admission in Harcourt Butler Technical University, (HBTU) Kanpur will be done on basis of merit of JEE Main examination result. A Candidate who is domicile of Uttar Pradesh i.e. he / she has passed the 10+2 qualifying examination from Institution located in U.P. is eligible for counselling . Defence quota is applicable and it has 5% seats reserved. The cutoff for chemical engineering for OBC category was 63232 last year and probably will not consider such a lower rank .

You may have chance of getting CSE in HBTU Kanpur.The closing rank is around 22000. So, if you geta a rank below this you may secure a seat at HBTU Kanpur. Also you should have 55% of marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. So, if you meet all this you can get a seat in CSE in HBTU Kanpur.
