First, it is brought out that the concept of lateral entry is there in engineering colleges but this concept is not available for entry into a B.Sc course. This is so since after 10th, there is a possibility of going for a 3-year Diploma course followed by 3-years engineering by lateral entry thus making it a 6-year programme after 10th before one can graduate as an engineer. (10+3+3), same years if one takes engineering via normal route (10+2+4). However, this facility is not available for B.Sc students hence it's a simple course of three years after 12th. It is to be remembered that hardware and networking are actually specialisations in the study of engineering and not available in detail during the study of B.Sc. Bachelor of Computer Application is a regular three years course that is offered by many colleges in almost every city of India. This course is of course approved by the concerned universities in its content. There is also a system in place in each university to review and change the syllabus as per the requirement. At some places it's divided into six semesters while in some cases annual pattern is still followed. On the other hand "ethical hacker's course" is offered by dozens of computer learning that have mushroomed everywhere. Then this course is neither regulated by any statutory body nor is it regulated by industry body or association. At some places about 50 hours of learning makes one certified ethical hacker while in some institutions it takes up to 200 hours of learning. For a person who is enrolled for BCA, this hacker's course can be anytime without any trouble absolutely. It can be done online, by weekly classes, etc. As it is not a course conducted as per university norm, it can definitely be taken up simultaneously with BCA.
