Harvard is not a cakewalk, students usually build their profile from middle school onwards to get into Harvard. You can take the SAT or ACT however they will also evaluate your overall profile. A well rounded student with strong extracurricular activities plus excellent academics are preferred.

Hi,
Ivy Leagues are quite competitive as you might know. They not only prefer students with good academics but also students who have a well-developed portfolio. In addition to excelling in academics, you must have solid extracurriculars, state or national level projects, sports, writing, music whatever is of your interest so that universities know you have a solid profile and won't go wasted. You can target a score above 1450.

The procedure to apply to Harvard is quite simple but getting admission is a really tough job. Harvard requires all the international students to either give SAT or the ACT. So, if you plan to apply to Harvard, you must give either of the 2 tests.
