Hi Pranusha,
Most of the government jobs are through a written exam and interview. Therefore, a certificate course is not much of a help for government job, but it can help in private jobs.

You can do distance certificate course in food and nutrition from various institutes:
1.Certificate in Food and Nutrition (CFN) through IGNOU (6 months duration)
2. Certificate Programme in Food & Nutrition at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad (6 months duration)
3. Certificate Couse in Nutrition and Dietetics through IGNOU (6 months duration)
4.Certificate Course in Food Nutrition in Nalanda Open University
5.Certificate Course in Food Nutrition in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), etc.
