To become a helicopter pilot in India, you'll need proper education, training, and licensing. Here's a detailed guide:After 10th Grade: Complete 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, as these are prerequisites for aviation training programs.Choose a License:Private Pilot License (H): Requires Class 10 completion and a Class II medical certificate.Commercial Pilot License (H): Requires 10+2 in Physics and Math, Class I medical certificate, and a minimum age of 17 years.Flight School Enrollment: Join a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-approved helicopter training institute. Helicopter Pilots hold CHPL. Commercial Helicopter Pilot License it is also issued by DGCA like CPL. The eligibility is similar to that of a Fixed wing pilot. For becoming a commercial helicopter pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires PCM to be a pilot. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. You can visit any doctorate from the list as per your convenience. Once you are done with Class 2nd medical, find out a suitable flying club for you as per your convenience. You can fly in India or abroad. I would suggest you fly in India. Besides finding the club, be aware that you will have to appear for:

Here, 1-5 are conducted by DGCA and 6 is conducted by WPC. Prepare for these subjects and appear, as exams are conducted every quarterly. For preparation, flying club will help you or there are private instructors available in metro cities as well. You will fly for 200Hrs + Clear DGCA and WPC exams + Clear Class 1st medical, then you shall GET your CHPL. The next license is ATPL, which you shall be able to apply for once. You will then have to probably fund or self-sponsor your type rating on whatever fleet you are selected in an airline. Then, you finally GET a job as a pilot. I hope the process is well explained to you. CHPL is an expensive affair. It might cost you around Rs.18-20 Lacs for flying + DGCA exams Rs.500/- each exam + Medicals for Rs.10, 000 + endorsements and license issue fees around Rs.25k + Type Rating around Rs.15 Lacs. So, decide wisely before you enter the field. After getting CHPL you may GET opportunity to fly for State Government, Private Operators like Pawan Hans etc.

Helicopter Pilot is a very good option. They have options in VIP flights, tourism flights, private flying, government flying, etc. You will have to appear for the course called CHPL (Commercial Helicopter Pilot License). There are various institutes which conduct such courses. Since you have just cleared your class 12, I expect you to be thorough with your studies. You may appear for NDA or Coast Guards, where you can become an Assistant Commandant under Short Service Commission and after finishing your commission of 14yrs you can easily join commercial flying. This will save you money as all your training shall be done on government expenses. Otherwise, if you go for training on your own, you can expect a fee of around 25-35 Lacs. Think wisely and then proceed accordingly with your choice.
