Heriot-Watt University has one of the most diverse and vibrant international student communities with one-third of the total students at UK campuses coming from outside the UK. As per HESA, 22% of the total students are international students and 7% of students are from the EU.

Heriot-Watt University offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Admissions for undergraduate courses at Heriot-Watt University are done through UCAS and for postgraduate courses, students need to apply through the university own application portal. The application fee for 2023 entry through UCAS is GBP 27 and international students can make up to six choices. The application fee for postgraduate courses was not available on the official website.

No, IELTS is not compulsory for Heriot-Watt University for Indian students. The majority of the programs at Heriot-Watt University are offered in the English language, hence, international students are required to prove their proficiency in the English language. Indian students can prove their proficiency in the English language in the following ways:
1. Indian Students who have scored 70% in class 12 CBSE or CISCE boards are not required to submit proof of proficiency in the English language.
