Because it is ranked as the 2nd Best college (in overall ranking) in Delhi university after SRCC. This college has 100+ books in their Library especially for history students. It has fully Wi-Fi equipped campus for E-Learning. It has the beat faculties for this department and what not. So, I'd prefer for Hindu college. However its cutoff is quite high (ranges from 95%-99%). Hope this helps.

History is a very important and interesting subject of study. It's offered for graduation in almost all the universities across India. Some subjects vary in each state but many of the subjects remain the same. The different subjects that are taught at undergraduate level are: History of ancient India, History of modern India, History of USA, history of USSR, history of Europe, world politics, English, sociology, etc.
This is the general list of subjects. At some places, some special subjects may be added. In the final year, students have to select some optional subjects out of the bouquet provided.
History is a subject which does not see changes on a day to day basis. But, of course, when there is a change of political party in the central government, there is invariably a glamour for change in contents and it indeed is affected.

I would like to suggest you to opt for political science over history. Although history is also not a bad option but the way career in political science is increasing, it made me say this. If you have studied political science as a subject in your graduation or post graduation level, you have plenty of options available besides being a politician. In the government sector, a wide range of government occupations, from urban planning to legislature to intelligence bodies, are available for those with a major in political science. It is a common belief that political science graduates are all just made for politics and govt. agencies, but that's not true. In India, with this degree, you can make your career in journalism (You can prepare political reports, articles, blogs and interviews for print and online publications, as well as television and radio broadcasts), or can do research (you can write UGC-NET exam. After clearing it, you will be eligible to work as lecturer and pursue Ph.D side by side). Hence, by opting for political science, you can have almost any type of job provided that you must have to be dedicated to your studies and choose your college wisely. Hope this helps.

Let me tell you that after BA, MA would be like an icing on the cake but you have other options like you can go for MBA, LLB and can also go for civil services like UPSC as you have mentioned that your elders asked you to pursue mass communication. Let me tell you that here comes the point of getting confused as students get confused. A student should either listen to what his/her elders say or do what they want. So, let me tell you, do what you like because you have to decide your future what you want to become. It should not be like you listen to elders or someone else and end up taking that and then later realise that you got yourself in a situation where your career goes nowhere. So, it would be better if you calculate it, listen to yourself and do what you want to do.
