Candidates who have successfully completed Bachelors or Masters Degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. Some Masters Degree programmes will have additional/specific eligibility requirements. Candidates are advised to refer to programme specific eligibility criteria (given in the Table below) for more details and ensure that they satisfy such specific eligibility criteria. Both are different in terms of the approach and output as well.In hospital management, one is recruited as a management trainee initially and later move up the ladder to reach to hospital administrator. It does not require any field work and one has to work mostly in the boundaries of hospital only. After MBA in hospital, one has the field to move to operations, marketing and other various departments.In health management, one is recruited at different posts like health coordinator, health consultant and even researcher also conducting primary research in field. These professional are required by some top organization of this country such as NRHM of state government, PFI (Population foundation of India) and by many other government institutes as health coordinator.You can decide what interests you more and pay off will be good in both as the sector itself is doing well currently.
