For admission to its English-taught programs, non-native English speakers are usually required by Hunter Institute of TAFE to provide evidence of their English competence. Generally speaking, the recognised English proficiency tests and the necessary scores for them consist of: IELTS: Minimum overall score of 5.5, with no less than 5.0 in any individual section.TOEFL: Minimum score of 46 in internet-based test. Cambridge English Qualifications: Accepted tests are Cambridge English First (FCE- minimum grade is 'B2'). PTE Academic:  Minimum score of 42, with no communication skill score less than 36. OET: Minimum grade is 'C' in all subjects.
