Yes, the university offers an MA course in Journalism and Mass Communication specialisation. Some of the PTU-affiliated colleges also offer the PG course. Moreover, the course is available as a full-time as well as a distance course. The Directorate of Distance Education, PTU regulates the admission procedure for the MA distance course. It is crucial that each aspirant meets the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. The applicant shall have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university by the UGC with at least 50% aggregate. Moreover, as per the age criteria, the student shall be more than 20 years of age. This criterion is for admission of Indian nationals.

The university accepts Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores for admission to an MBA. Hence, aspirants must have a valid CMAT score to seek admission. The duration of this entrance test is three hours. Moreover, it is conducted in CBT mode, which is Computer Based Test. To appear for this exam, students need to visit the NTA website (nta.ac.in) and apply.

The total tuition fee for PTU MBA ranges between INR 11,700 - INR 3.6 lakh. This fee range includes fees for the MBA course at the main campus along with the affiliated colleges as well. However, it is calculated as per the data available from unofficial sources and hence is subject to change. The steps to apply for the PG course are as follows:Visit the PTU official website.Click on "Register for MBA". Register by entering some basic details, such as name, valid email ID, phone number, etc.Login with the Username and Password.Fill out the PTU MBA application form.Submit the form after the payment of the registration fee, i.e. INR 1,000.

PTU BTech 2025 counselling will start in may 2025. There will be two rounds of counselling. The candidate has to pay Counselling Fee of Rs. 2,000/- (Non-Refundable) to participate in Centralized Online Counselling. : The candidate must carry all the related document(s) at the time of reporting / admission, based on which he/she is participating in Centralized Online Counselling and claiming the seat, otherwise, the provisionally allotted seat will be cancelled and candidate will have no right to claim the seat again.

The aspirant's performance in Class 12 along with their JEE Main scores and ranks are considered for admission to the BTech courses. Additionally, the student must also meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Eligible candidates with a valid JEE Main score can further fill out the IKGPTU application form online (ptu.ac.in). The university releases a merit list after the conclusion of the application process followed by which selected students are called for counselling.

Both of the universities are renowned for Engineering courses in the state. IKGPTU offer more BTech courses in comparison to Punjab University (PU). As per the unofficial sources, PTU offers 511 BTech programmes through its constituent and affiliated colleges, while PU offers 32 courses.
