IBPS RRB normalisation is a process used to equate the scores of candidates appearing for the examination, particularly when multiple shifts or sessions are conducted. This normalization method aims to adjust the difficulty level variations among different shifts to ensure fairness in the evaluation process. Since the examination may be conducted in various shifts, there could be slight differences in the difficulty level of questions between these shifts. To address this, the normalization process is applied, which takes into account the average performance of candidates in each shift and aligns the scores accordingly. The normalisation process ensures that all candidates are evaluated based on their relative performance across shifts rather than the absolute performance in a particular shift. This helps in providing a fair and level playing field for all candidates, irrespective of the shift they appeared in.

Scores obtained by candidates in IBPS RRB exam are calculated based on the marking scheme. The marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims and Mains exams. IBPS RRB PO exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims exam, Mains exam and interview. IBPS RRB SO exam pattern comprises single online exam and interview.
