Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts All India Entrance Examination to shortlist aspirants for admission in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in agriculture and allied sciences. The exam pattern for ICAR AIEEA UG exam is such that the paper comprises of 180 multiple choice objective type questions. ICAR AIEEA UG exam is of 2 hours duration. No, ICAR UG is not tough like NEET and JEE in terms of the level of questions they ask, but it offers lesser time to answer. Thus, the number of questions as compared to NEET & JEE are more but they are at a lower level. To enter into a good college you need to secure a good rank. ICAR UG gives out only top 500 ranks all over India so firstly you should be among those 500, secondly, it offers a manual counseling for its selection. For the best college like NDRI, Karnal you must be under top 150. For colleges like PAU & GB PANT, you might GET the seat at around 200220 also. Rest it all depends upon the people with ranks who appear at the counseling and the colleges they wish to take. Let me share my case my scenario was I wanted to enter NDRI but my rank was 203 & NDRI was UPAT 150 So I had an option all the other colleges including ANAND (Amul), PAU, GB PANT, CCSHAU etc.

If you are a Stream A student, then you can attempt questions of Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections as there would be 60 questions each (180 questions total). There is no need to attempt questions of Agriculture and Mathematics section, as out of five sections only three sections are to be attempted. While preparing for the exam, give equal emphasis to Physics, chemistry, and Biology as there are 60 questions each. You can cover your 10+2 level PCB books for this exam, if you have been studying for medical entrance examinations like NEET then that preparation should be sufficient. No need to study Agriculture related questions or General knowledge. Always follow the syllabus given in ICAR official website - Syllabus

Note: Those who have Agriculture as a subject in their 10+2 can attempt questions of Agriculture section and two more sections based on their 10+2 subjects.
