You can surely get admission with an IELTS score of 5.5
Some colleges accepting 5.5 bands are Camosun College, University of Alberta, Charles Sturt University.

You need to score a minimum of 6 in your IELTS to qualify for any immigration programs to Canada. That is equivalent to CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) Band 7. For all students who wish to undertake the under-graduate and Bachelor course in Canada are:
TOEFL exam can be given by the aspirant and the score should be at least 213, or
IELTS exam test score should be band 6.0
70% or above in Class 12th results Students having qualified 12th/ HSC or 10+2 for study in Canada should also meet the requirements of Canadian Universities.
