IELTS is an English proficiency test. It does't require any qualifications. Any one who wants to study or work abroad can give IELTS.

Hi Harika, The best way to go ahead is by first checking the university admission deadline, without having any target or goal you should't fix any test dates. You have to first know if universities will accept applications so late because usually you have to apply by November or December of the previous year. Please visit the university websites first and check the deadlines.

Some universities require 6.5 band and also a minimum of 6 band in all four components. However, few universities exempt students from IELTS based on class 10th and 12th. English marks. You have many specialised Master's degree courses for ECE like embedded system, network security, telecommunication engineering and so on because when you learn about the latest technology, you tend to get good jobs.

I am also planning to study abroad. You should apply for Australia in April and May for July intake and in December and January for February intake. For UK, you should apply before 15th October. Because, deadline for the most universities is that. But some universities also accept application after that. Check the official website of the University Requirements and deadline to which you want to study.

No not at all. The requirements for Indian students are as follows:
1) Good marks in your board exam2) SAT with three subject test (maths level 2 is compulsory).
They ask you that if you have taken any English proficiency test, like IELTS or TOEFL, then submit the scores. It is not compulsory. Check more information on official website.

Hi Shriya,
Your IELTS score is very low. An overall score of 6.5 is required for any PG level course in the world. But IELTS alone is not going to give you admission. And also depending on how good your profile is this current score may be considered. It is true not just for Germany but also the other two countries you mentioned. Germany is a research hub so it should be your first preference. You must have had very good marks in your Masters, publications, papers, projects, etc. For any Ph.D applicant, relevant paperwork is very important. Knowledge of German language is highly suggested. I will advise you to check options in all thes

Hello there,
You have a better chance in Australia based on the profile you gave. Visa will come later, first, you need to get acceptance from the university. So, I will first suggest you to focus on the application process and submit a competitive application including a well-written SOP and also the LOR.

With 5.5 bands in IELTS, you can't get admission in any country. You have to take at least 6.5 bands in IELTS exam to get admission in countries like Singapore, France, Canada or Australia. So you need to improve your score.
