Geography programs in Germany are offered in English at various universities, such as the Dresden University of Technology, which provides English-taught Master's programs in Geography. Therefore, if you are interested in studying Geography in Germany in English, you may need to provide proof of English proficiency, such as IELTS, as the programs are not taught in German. This is in line with the general requirement for international students to provide a language test confirmation from the language of instruction, whether it is English or German.

All international students whose first language is not English, are required to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language. English language requirements at the University of Essex are country specific. And, an Indian student who has achieved 70% or more in English in Class 12 from CBSE or CISCE board exam does not require an IELTS score to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
