Yes, the University of Bergen requires IELTS to prove the proficiency in the English language. However, international students can prove their proficiency in the English language by submitting scores of TOEFL and PTE. The UiB requires international students to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language for master courses taught in English. Yes, IELTS is compulsory if you wish to pursue a course in Canada. However, besides IELTS international students can submit test scores of various other English language proficiency tests such as TOELF, PTE and Duolingo. Canadian universities generally require international students to prove their proficiency in the English langauge. It is because the mode of instruction in Canadian universities is English.
