Candidates are selected based on their merits based on their marks in class 10, 10+2 board or even graduation for NTT courses in IGNOU. Candidates can pursue courses from IGNOU from their local regional centre. Many other central or state universities also offer this course through their directorate of distance education and candidates can pursue this course from the comfort of their homes.

In accordance with a recent announcement from the IGNOU university, there is no charge for SC/ST students re-registering for the July 2023 IGNOU admission session or seeking new admission. If students would like to use this facility, they must apply online and provide a soft copy of all the necessary documentation.

However, unofficial sources claim that during recent IGNOU placements, the average package received by students was between INR 3 LPA and INR 4 LPA. Popular IGNOU courses with promising future employment prospects in the business arena include BEd, MBA, and MCA.
