Been a faculty at LPU let me share the admission criteria as I am not aware about IIHM. Student have to Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent, a further 5% relaxation is given to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants). Let me share few points about Hotel Management programme at LPU :
Curriculum: High academic standards maintained by offering the curriculum framed in consultation with industry experts. Student exposure: Being a part of a resource-rich University, the students have an advantage of interdisciplinary exposure which is not possible in standalone colleges. University-Hotel: The School also trains its students in the campus hotel named UniHotel of 25 rooms hosting national and international guests where students practice along with the staff. Infrastructure: The School has five modern kitchens with two bakeries. All kitchen and bakery are equipped to enable a student to perform scientifically and to attain their best of learning through most modern gazettes. We have few training restaurants to teach a student about the authentic serving style of food and beverage. We are equipped with one front office laboratory, two housekeeping laboratories, two computer laboratories with 60 computers, and a simulation laboratory for aviation. Placement: 100% placements record with minimum 10% students selected as Management Trainee (Junior Executive level) till date and the placement is with brands like Cox & Kings, Carnival Cruise, JET Airways, Oberoi, Taj, Leela, etc. Package: Six students offered the package of Rs 8 Lacs by Carnival Cruise. Internship: Industry internships in top national and international five-star hotel brands like The Leela Palace, ITC, Taj, Oberoi, The Grand, Marriott, etc. Intellectual Strength: Faculty members with a holistic blend of academic & industrial exposure. CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY is Setting New Benchmarks in Placements for Hotel Management and Airlines-Tourism students at Chandigarh University
Worlds top Tourism and Hospitality management company, Walt Disney selected 41 Hotel Management and Airlines Tourism students during campus placements at Chandigarh University. It has been 5th consecutive year that Walt Disney has recruited Hotel Management and Airlines Tourism students from Chandigarh University as the multi-national had selected 5 students in 2014, 10 in 2015, 11 in 2016, 25 in 2017. A total of 106 International & National chain of Hotels, Airlines and Tour & Travel Management companies selected 294 students from University Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (UITHM) at Chandigarh University. There has been a jump of 20% in number of Five Star Hotel Chains which recruited the Hotel Management students while there is an increase of 30% in number of offers as compared to last year. The total number of offers touched 343 which included 53 offers from top notch five star international and national hotel chains. The highest package offered during campus placements is 18 LPA offered by Walt Disney, USA. Top notch Hotel Chains like The Oberoi Group, The Grand, JW Maroitt, Radisson, Hotel Lalit, Ashok Group of Hotels, Jaypee Group, Ascot Hotels, Park Plaza, ITC Group of Hotels, Hotel Taj, The Claridges and Hyatt Regency are among the prominent five star hotel chains which have selected Hotel Management students during campus placements while top airlines & travel management companies which included Indigo, JET Airlines, Vistara, Spice JET and Cox & King recruited the Airlines & Tourism students. A total of 104 offers were made in the field of Food Production (Chef) with the highest package offered of 4.1 LPA, while 127 offers were made in the field of F&B Services and Front Office in which the highest package offered touched 6 LPA. In the Airlines and Tourism Management department a total of 52 offers were made and the highest package offered is 3.92 LPA. I hope this answer helps.
