IIFT exam is conducted for two hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The timing has been the same for the exam over the last five years. There will be no break during the exam and candidates will have to complete the test in one go. The test will have 110 questions from Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Candidates can divide 120 minutes between these four sections according to their own strategy. They should attempt General Awareness at the end as it is memory based and will take not more than 10-15 minutes.

The candidates are supposed to report to the IIFT exam centre by 8:00 AM as the exam will start at 10:00 AM. The entry gates will close 30 minutes before commencement of exam and no entry will be allowed any under circumstances after that. The duration of IIFT exam will be 2 hours and candidates will be allowed to leave the test centre only after 12:00 PM.Candidates are required to reach their test centers as per the reporting time so that the identification process for all candidates is completed on time. Entry of a large number of test takers takes time.

At the IIFT examination centre, the test agency staff conducts identification of every candidate with valid registration for the exam. No person other than the staff and registered candidates is allowed to enter the test centre premises. To authenticate the identification of the candidates, the exam authorities seek documents issued by the government of India. PwD candidates have to carry additional document as mentioned below. The address of exam centre will not be mentioned on the IIFT application form. It will be mentioned on the candidate’s IIFT admit card. Candidates must check the location and address of their test centre at least a day before the exam to ensure they know the total time taken and distance between their home and exam centre as they have to reach the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the IIFT admit card. Candidates will have to make their own arrangement to reach the allotted exam centre on time. If they reach the exam centre after the gates have been closed, then you will not be allowed to enter.

Along with the IIFT admit card and a photo ID, candidates belonging to PwD category will be required to carry PwD certificate and Scribe certificate (if required) issued by a competent authority at the exam centre. If they have any other medical condition, then they will have to present a medical certificate too attested by a government doctor and competent authority. Candidates not carrying the required documents will not be allowed to appear for the exam under any circumstances.

There is no arrangement for depositing bags and valuables at the IIFT exam centre. Thus, candidates must not carry anything else than IIFT admit card, photo ID, pen, face mask, hand-sanitizer and drinking water bottle. In case, they are carrying a bag or such item, they will have to make arrangement themselves of keeping it safe. Information related to items to carry and not carry will be mentioned in every candidate's admit card. They should read all the exam related instructions and guidelines printed on the IIFT admit card one or two days before the IIFT exam.

To get errors on IIFT admit card rectified, the candidate must contact the help-desk of exam conducting body and get the error rectified before the exam day. Candidate's with erroneous IIFT admit cards will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. To get the error rectified, the helpline number for IIFT exam is: 011 4075 9000Candidates must download their IIFT admit card as soon as it is released so that you can get the errors rectified before the exam date in case there is any. The process may take time so you need to be proactive in getting the errors rectified.

No, candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic gadget to the IIFT exam centre. This is to prevent cheating or any kind of malpractice by any candidate. For the assistance of candidates an onscreen calculator will be present on the computer screen and pen and paper for rough work will be provided inside the exam hall. Candidates can use the rough sheet and pen for calculation and leave them at the test lab before exiting. However, the best practice is to use mental calculation for saving time as IIFT is a time bound test and you have to attempt about 100 questions in 2.5 hours.

Reporting time for IIFT exam is mentioned on each candidate's admit card. Until last year, the IIFT exam was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. And the reporting time for candidates was 8:00 AM. The reporting time is two hours before the commencement of exam because the test centre staff has to conduct candidate identification and document verification. The exam centre gates will close half and hour before commencement of exam. Candidates reaching the exam centre after the gates have been closed will not be allowed entry under any circumstances.

No, the candidates cannot change their exam centres after the IIFT admit card has been released. They cannot appear for the exam at any other test centre other than the one mentioned on their admit card either. If they try to do so, they will be disqualified. So, candidates should download the admit card as soon as it is released and check the exam centre location.
