Yes, IIHM conducts an online Management Aptitude Test, namely Electronic Common Hospitality Admission Test (eCHAT). This test is specifically conducted by IIHM for the selection to various courses offered by institute. Those who wish to get admission to various courses at IIHM Ahmedabad must qualify for this exam with a valid score. The application fee is INR 600.

In IHMs you can spend less as it is a public body and in IIHMs you would have to spend no less than 4 Lacs for the course as it is a private body. Other than that, both are best at their own places. Public one offers more better jobs is just a myth. It only depends on your personal skills and your capability to be an asset to the company. I have worked with a large IHG hotel where I found absolutely no difference between an IHM graduate and IIHM graduate. Once you step into the industry the difference between both institutes vanishes off.
