No, there is no other way to get admission to BTech without qualifying for JEE Main. Candidates are required to visit the official website of NTA to apply for JEE Man entrance exam. Only the candidates with a valid JEE rank are eligible for admission. Further, JEE Main rank holders will be called for JoSAA Counselling process for the final seat allotment.

The tuition fee is INR 3.50 lakh. However, for the sponsored students, the fee sums up to INR 3.94 lakh. Further, this is just the tuition fee, hence, the final fee at the time of admission will vary as it will include the hostel fee and one-time payable components. IIIT Allahabad offers five courses, including BTech, MTech, MBA, Certificate and PhD programmes. The duration of the courses is from six months to five years. Admission to all the courses is entrance-based, except for the certificate courses. Moreover, the offered courses are available in multiple specialisations.

The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech course at IIIT Allahabad is that the candidate must have a BTech/ MSc in an allied discipline from a recognised university/ institute with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent. The course is available in four main specialisations. The M.Tech specialisations are Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics, Bioinformatics, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Admission to the M.Tech course at IIIT Allahabad is based on scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), followed by CCMT counselling.

The BTech programme is offered in three specialisations. The specialisations are Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and IT specialisation in Business Administration. Candidates are selected on the basis of JEE Main scores, followed by the JoSAA counselling process. Candidates must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria, that is, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject with 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ST candidates).

Both the colleges are good for MBA courses. Here is a small comparison to help you decide:
1. Ranking: The Times 2022 survey has ranked MN NIT Allahabad at 60 for management courses. On the other hand, the NIRF has ranked it under 90 for engineering courses.
2. Fees: The MBA course fee at MN NIT Allahabad is INR 1.29 Lacs, excluding the hostel fee. The IIIT-A MBA fee is comparably higher at 3.16 Lacs, and the hostel fee is 5 Lacs.
3. Placement: The placement packages at IIIT-A are good. MN NIT's average annual salary package for MBA graduates is 5.75 Lacs, while IIIT-A's is 10 Lacs.
