For admission to the BTech course of IIIT Sri City candidates are required to appear for JEE Mains and for M.Tech admissions, IIIT Sri City accepts GATE. Apply for IIIT Sri City BTech is based on rank secured in JEE Mains followed by counselling conducted by JoSAA/ CSAB. For MTech, candidates have to appear for GATE or for Non-GATE candidates, the selection is based on either merit or an entrance exam conducted by IIIT Sri City.

The selection process of IIIT Sri City M.Tech for Non-GATE is divided into two categories a)Non-GATE candidates with an undergraduate degree from CFTI institutes b) Non-GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA). Selection process for both the categories is mentioned below:Non GATE Candidates with an Undergraduate degree from CFTI InstitutesThe candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 8.0 CGPA to fall under this category.Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Coding Test and Personal Interview conducted by IIIT Sri City.Non GATE

IIIT Sri City offers a Full Time PhD as well as a Part-time PhD programme to the candidates.Candidates pursuing full time PhD from IIIT Sri City can submit the synopsis only after 24 months from the date of registration, also candidates with Institute Scholarship can leave the Institute for job but only after submission of synopsis.Candidates pursuing part-time PhD from IIIT Sri City can submit the synopsis only after 36 months from the date of registration.The maximum duration of full time PhD is 6 years and for part-time PhD, the maximum duration is 7 years.
