In CSAB rounds, you will be given NIT/IIIT according to your category rank if applicable, or else, General.

You can check the previous year's cutoff's at
https://josaa.nic.in/josaaorcrarchieve/Result/OpeningClosingRankArchieveN.aspx?Year=2017
Generally homestate NITs are easier to get than that of the other states. REGISTRATION FOR THE COUNSELLING HAS BEEN STARTED FROM TODAY AND WILL BE OPEN TILL 25 JUNE 2018. BEST OF LUCK!

On the basis of JEE main rank, you could get a seat in NITs and IIITs but not in IITs. You should visit
https://josaa.nic.in/josaaorcrarchieve/Result/OpeningClosingRankArchieveN.aspx?Year=2017
and check the previous year's cutoff's of your HOMESTATE NIT first and then the other NITs you want. There you would get an idea of your selection. ALSO, THE REGISTRATION FOR COUNSELLING HAS BEEN STARTED FROM TODAY AND WILL BE AVAILABLE UPTO 25 JUNE 2018. So take care of the important dates also. BEST OF LUCK!

Sorry, IIIT's offer the core ECE, IT and CSE branches only. You need at least under 20000 rank all India to be able to stand for a seat in them. The last ranked IIIT is IIIT - Manipur, where the closing rank is around 27k for general in round - 1. Try for other options.
Best of luck.

It is not an NIT and IIIT, though. It can be said a GFTI as it was opened prior to Independence by government funds and a few organizations of Bengal.
Moreover, this institute is considered as an institute of national importance and it is mentor institute of IIIT-Kolkata.

First of all, you can't expect placement in New IIITs. New IIITs will not give you good industry exposure. It will take at least 10-15 years to get established. Better to go for old GFTI colleges rather than going in New IIITs.
