Concepts will help you solve the questions, given an indefinite time-period to do so. In exams with very tight time constraints just getting acquainted with the concepts will not work that much. You need to practice and be well versed with the concepts so that you can relate & solve the question very fast. So, practice is very critical to crack CAT.

I believe you are asking about logical reasoning. If it is so then the best way to score well is practice. There are some standard type of questions types that are asked with some amount of variations to the same. So I would suggest to get acquainted with these question types by going through basics provided by you coaching center or any CAT prep Book and then keep on practicing. With time, it will improve.

MBA in HR has very good future career prospects. I would suggest you to apply for XLRI HR, TISS HR, SCMHRD, etc. These are some of the best colleges that offer HR specialization .

As far as IIM- A is concerned, yes. For some private colleges which have management seats, it might be optional. I would suggest you to talk to the respective colleges personally & go through the respective admission criteria.

Academic scores to get an IIM A admit is considerably high since IIM A gives more weightage to prior acads. On an average, 10th/12th/Grad score hovers around 85-90% for most of the students at IIM A.

The calls start pouring in a matter of days (4-5days for 1st call) after disclosure of results. But I would suggest not to wait for the calls and utilize the time to start your interview preparation.
All the best.

With 74% in 12th it would be difficult to get a call from IIM A since it gives much weight-age to academics. According to previous trends, you can still expect a call if you manage a 99.8 percentile or more.
