Its according to your wish. You may even opt for both by doing a job and doing a Master Degree with distance education.

CAT doesn't check your sharpness. The questions are really easy (it is basically class 10-12 Maths and English). They check speed and accuracy, which only comes from practice. If you can practice enough, I don't think you will have any problem cracking CAT. And don't think about salary now and don't settle for anything that comes your way, fight for what you deserve.

It depends and changes year to year. IIMA calculates composite score for all candidates. CAT percentile is the major component of the composite score. However it also depends on your marks of class 10th, 12th and graduations. It also takes into account your masters score and work experience if any. Hence if you have really good 10th, 12th, and graduation score, you can expect call from IIMA even with slightly lower CAT percentile. To give you a representative figure, if you have an average academic record, you will need to score 99.7 percentile. With really good record, you can expect a call with 99.2 -99.5 percentile as well.

Your academic performance is definitely above the minimum cutoff specified by IIMs. Hence you are definitely eligible for admission in IIMs. However you will have to write CAT and do really really well in CAT. With this score you would not get an advantage of being in top 10 percentile based on prior academic performance. Hence you will have to be in top 0.5% of all CAT applicants. If you manage to achieve that, you stand a decent chance to get into IIMs.

MBA is usually hectic, at least the first year. Hence I would advise you to relax now and meet your friends. Still if you want to do something, talk to people and try to network. Know more about the college you are going to and try to develop a understanding of different fields that you can choose eventually.

You must score at least 95 percentile. But in some cases even 95 percentile is not enough. You must aim for 97 percentile.
