While all the courses at IIMA are full-time and residential, the PGPX is a one-year programme while PGP is for two years. The PGPX orientation is to give a general management perspective to a management executive, whereas the PGP is focused on Functional and Operational Management. On successful completion, students are given a Master of Business Administration degree.

While IIM-A does not have a minimum score required for admission, candidates are advised to aim for a score between 70 and 75 percentile in both the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT/GRE. In this regard, students must also note that standardised tests are just one of several admission criteria. Meant for working professionals, candidates seeking admission must have a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience. On successful completion of this course, students are given a Master of Business Administration degree. For admission, it is mandatory for all eligible candidates to take a GMAT/ GRE test. In the final selection process, candidates are also required to appear for a PI round and submit an essay.

To be eligible for IIM Ahmedabad MBA admissions, a candidate needs to pass a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a UGC-recognised university after at least 12 years of school education with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). For admission to IIM Ahmedabad for the flagship MBA (or PGP) course, the result of CAT 2023 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 (If the CAT conducting body follows the trend as in 2022). However, if the trend is not followed, the same will most probably be out by the first week of January 2024. After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for IIM Ahmedabad admission.

For admission to MBA (or PGP) 2024 batch at IIM Ahmedabad, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of IIM Ahmedabad are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AMAfternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PMEvening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PMEarlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.

Yes, CAT 2023 dates for admission to IIM Ahmedabad are out. To apply for the CAT exam, candidates are required to create an account, fill the CAT registration form and pay the exam application fee. The 2023 CAT form have to be submitted by a certain deadline after which no application will be accepted. For 2023 CAT exam, CAT registration will go on between Aug 2 and Sep 20.
