Having acquired an advanced degree in bioinformatics we are assuming that you are already looking at full time employment and hence it is advised that you pursue your MBA via the distance learning mode.
There are plenty of good offers ( and an even larger number of not so good ones) to choose from.
There are distance learning programs offered by top notch institutes as well as those offered by Tier-2 institutes that offer good value for money in terms of acceptability. While the structure of all these programs remains more or less the same( curriculum , internal assessment and exams) the fees, duration and mode of examinations may vary

MBA from a good college is generally good after graduation in engineering. Definitely, doing MBA is a good option after mechanical engineering. If you go for MBA then it will be helpful to develop different skills such as personality development, business skills, interview skills and soft skills.

2 years of work experience is minimum requirement. In order to get a call from IIMA, your CAT score should be really good, followed by your degree CGPA and even 10th, 12th marks are taken into consideration.

My answer to your question: As soon as possible. Studying more wouldn't harm you. Studying MBA fresh out of B.Tech might be beneficial in terms of placements as some profiles in finance/marketing/consulting prefer fresher or people with relevant work experience.

It depends on the type of specialisation you have done in your B.Tech. MBA is a management course, it is done by those who are seeking management level jobs. M.Tech will fetch you jobs which are technical and you will learn more about the mechanism of the machines rather than management. Choose, what interests you more.

Well, it's good that you have a clear goal right from the start. I'll keep the answer short and list out a few things you should keep in mind to get admitted in one of the good IIMs.
1. First, make sure you do well in your studies during engineering. Your overall performance during your bachelors degree has a huge weightage. So, make sure you keep that up. While colleges often have their requirements listed out as 60%, make sure that you maintain your score at least above 75%.
2. Prepare for CAT: You might already know that to get admitted to one of the IIMs, you have to clear your CAT exam. Start preparing for this exam right now. Often

Hello, I doubt if one specialization can be called the best since it is purely subjective; it entirely depends upon a candidate's interests and career aspirations, though the evergreen MBA streams are Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations.

IIM Ahmedabad Cutoff - IIM Ahmedabad is the topmost B-School in India. The IIM Ahmedabad cutoff should be really high but the institute has reduced its CAT cutoff for the admission process in the last few years. The cutoff for CAT was over 90 percentile during the academic year 2016-17. Later, it was reduced to 80 percentile for General candidates from the academic year 2017-19. The institute has released the CAT cutoff for the academic year 2019-21 and there has been no change in the same as compared to that of the previous year. So, let us find out all about the IIM Ahmedabad cutoff in this article.
