IIMC provides free or reduced tuition to students who are financially weak.

On August 8, 2011, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Aizawl, or IIMC Aizawl, was officially opened as the East Regional Centre of IIMC. Numerous international, national, and regional news agencies, including Reuters, WION, PTI, The Times of India, The Indian Express, Mathrubhumi, and Malayala Manorama, employ IIMC Aizawl students. IIMC Aizawl currently provides two courses. One of the most well-known journalism schools in the nation is the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ). The Indian Express Group founded it in 1994 under the name Asian College of Journalism, Bangalore. Sashi Kumar assumed control of it in 2000, and the campus was moved to Taramani, Chennai. IIMC Dhenkanal and IIMC Kottayam both are reputable institutions for mass communication education. It is difficult to compare these institute as both are good in their own domain. However, here are few differences between the two:PLACEMENTS: IIMC Dhenkanal is known for its strong placement records, with almost 70 to 80 percent students being placed every year from the institute. CAMPUS: IIMC Kottayam has a permanent campus which is working on initiating new short term courses for mass communication. Whereas, IIMC Dhenkanal nestles in the rural and tribal hinterland in central Odisha.COURSES: IIMC Dhenkanal offers English and Odia post graduate courses whereas IIMC Kottayam offers a Masters programme in community media.Both of these institutes have their own strength. You should consider your own area of interest in studies, personal preferences, job market and the distance between these institue and your hometown while choosing between two.

IIMC Aizawl currently only provides the Online PG Diploma in English Journalism as one of its two course offerings. The temporary campus is currently housed inside the Aizawl University campus.
