However, for the top Iims often called BLACKIS (IIMB, IIML, IIMA, IIMC, IIMI, IIMK), a good score in CAT is 99+ percentile. To get admission in these top-ranking Iims, it is crucial to be in the top bracket of CAT scorers. And since there are many factors such as work experience, academic performance etc.

Hi. The basic IIM eligibility criteria is graduation with minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45 per cent for SC, ST and PWD/DA category) Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exam or awaiting their results, are also eligible to apply.

Yes is the answer for eligibility based on your past academic scores as most of the B Schools asked for 1st class in 10th,12th and Graduation. But after that, its generally depends on your CAT score plus GD/What and PI performance. This in addition to the weight-age provided to your past academic scores to create a merit list. So, you can say the merit list depends on the candidates pool as well. So keeping in mind these things you should work towards what's there in your hands now i.e. to score a high CAT score and do exceedingly well in subsequent process to get through.
