Since getting into IIMs is for a class which has millions of students, the average student is probably a 6 pointer. Well, 15% of IIM Calcutta Batch of 2019 are 6 pointers or worse. So, yes, IIM Calcutta has a lot of average students considering only academics. But then, 15% of the batch at IIM Calcutta are exceptions.

Adikavi Nannaya University MBA and MCA Admission 2020 The basic eligibility for admissions in Masters programs is a minimum aggregate of 50% in Bachelor's degree. However, for admission to MBA programme, a valid scorecard in any national level entrance exam e. g. CAT/ XAT/ CMAT etc. is mandatory.

For good IIMs, you should score at least 98+ in CAT. Else, you can try for another reputed college.

Don't compare them on the basis of the package. Do whatever you really want to, else after joining wrong course will make you regret whole life. Although I will suggest to for IIM whatever you get, rest is your choice.

Yes, you can. I had a year down in my 2nd year, and had just over a 57% aggregate when I appeared for the CAT in my final year. And I did get into an IIM immediately after completing my engineering. That is not to say that these did not impact my chances of getting into an IIM. Thanks to my low engineering score, even a 99.68percentile in the CAT only got me calls from Kozhikode, Ranchi and Rohtak (this was in 2010). And during both Kozhikode and Rohtak interviews (I didnt appear for Ranchi), the low engineering score (and, consequently, the year back) came up for discussion.
