IIM's are the best colleges in the country if you want to pursue MBA after graduation. The process is straightforward - you need to write CAT exam and then appear for interviews to get admission

No, don't go for repeating the exam. You can continue with it, and try to achieve good percentage in your last year of B.Com. And, for getting admission in IIMS, start preparing for CAT right now and score well in the CAT exam. They will definitely get you top B school or IIMS. Also, do some preparation for GD and PI process.

12th standard marks do not matter directly but during PI (personal interview) ,one has to carry the mark-sheet and good result will only have a positive impact on the interview panelists. Although its not a necessity but good marks in 12th board will surely give an edge to the candidate.

Hi, This was the scenario few years back, but now, if you want to get admissions in top colleges /universities you have to take the test and then interview. Some universities are still taking the test and interviews good placements like Lovely Professional University, Christ University, Symbiosis University, etc.

As 12% is too low and IIM B is typically known for a candidate's profile. So, you have to get higher % in CAT.

The maximum is flexible as several companies offer variable components which go way beyond the base package. Nevertheless, financial services companies do offer base packages above 35 LPA.
On an average, an IIM-A grad does get a package around 18 LPA
