IIM Shillong's admissions procedure is highly competitive, with the total cutoff changing each year based on criteria such as candidate pool quality and seat availability. For the 2024-2026 batch, the institute has established minimum percentile standards for each category. General category candidates must achieve a minimum overall percentile of 75, with sectional cutoffs of 75 in VARC, 70 in DILR, and 70 in QA. Academic Scores & SC Category AdvantageClass 10 and 12 Marks: Good marks, viz., 87% in class 10 and 88% in class 12, will carry extra weightage; therefore, these are good academically and will make a positive statement in your profile.Graduation Marks: SC Category- Even with 65% graduation, it's acceptable for most old IIMs, since this is quite low by general standards.SC Category- This gives you a definite inbound advantage for lower-cutoff thresholds.2. CAT Score RestrictionFor SC category candidates, the requirement for a lower percentile than a general category candidate in order to maximize chances is an 80%-plus CAT percentile. 3.
