IIM CAP is a common selection process for newer Iims. Under the CAP candidates eligible for admission to the nine new Iims - IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur are shortlisted for What-PI round by a single IIM, the one who is given the responsibility to conduct the CAP round in a particular academic year. Written Ability Test or WAT is a 30-minute essay-writing test on topics from fields like socio-political, economic and business affairs, sports, etc. PI refers to Personal Interview held on the same day as WAT. The WAT-PI round of all IIMs is conducted after CAT result declaration. The shortlisting for WAT-PI is done on the basis of CAT cut off, which is fixed by the institutes. Hello! Comparing the placement records of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is not suitable because they are distinct types of institutions. BIT is an engineering college, whereas IIM is a management institute. Nevertheless, Iims are recognised as some of the top B-schools in India, and they have a commendable placement record. It is advisable to prioritize your preferences and aptitude while deciding on a college for engineering or management studies.

Eligible students need to qualify CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE/UGC-JRF exams for admission to DPM programme. The admission process also include personal interview round. According to the NIRF ranking 2023, IIM Trichy has been ranked 22 in Management category whereas IIM Udaipur has been ranked 16. Moreover, the during IIM Trichy placements 2023, the highest and average package offered was INR 41.61 LPA and INR 20.55 LPA. Whereas during IIM Udaipur placements 2023, the highest and average package offered during placements 2023 stood at INR 36 LPA and INR 20.3 LPA, respectively. The fees for IIM Trichy MBA course range between INR 11.8 lakh- INR 19.5 lakh, whereas the fees for IIM Udaipur range between INR 17.5 lakh - INR 20 lakh.
