IISER Entrance Exam Eligibility

IISER entrance exam is one such platform where candidates who are interested in pursuing their academics in BS-MS dual degree and BS degree programmes from the reputed research institutes like IISERs, IIT Madras and IISc Bangalore must appear for IAT 2025.Candidates who have passed their Class 12 boards exam in 2024 and also who are yet to pass in 2025 from the Science stream are eligible to appear in the IISER entrance Exam 2025. For candidates who had appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2024 and reappeared in any subject (for whatever reason) in 2025, the better of two performances will be considered

The eligibility criteria for applying to the IISER 2024 entrance exam are as follows:Nationality:Indian NationalsPersons with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card (can apply through KVPY or IAT channel only)Foreign Nationals (can apply through JEE (Advanced) channel only)Educational Qualification:Passed Class XII (or equivalent) exam in Science stream in 2022, 2023 or 2024 from a recognised board.Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics during Class XII.Minimum Marks:Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in Class XII exam for general categorySC/ST/PwD Candidates: Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in Class XII exam.Age Limit:There is no specific age limit.Selection Process:Based on the performance in the entrance exam chosen by the candidate:Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel: Students who qualify for the KVPY Stream SX can apply through this channel.ISER Aptitude Test (IAT) Channel: This is the main entrance exam conducted by the IISERs themselves.JEE (Advanced) Channel: Students who qualify in JEE (Advanced) can also apply for admission to IISERs.
